Two PNY SSD on Ubuntu

Recommended Posts

Hey there!

I wanted to add two extra SSD hard drives to my desktop to store some stuff on as I begin to fill up my main hard drive. Since I work at best buy and can get Insignia stuff for dirt cheap I decided to buy their Dual Sata slot hard drive connector which is basically two Sata cables running to a USB 3.0. I use Ubuntu as my daily driver operating system so I plugged the usb cable from the hard drives to my computer and Ubuntu is not finding the SSD. I checked the lights on the Sata connector and I'm getting a good reading there but the "Disks" feature of ubuntu is not detecting them. Can anyone shed some light on this and please ask questions if anything makes no sense I'm sure I didn't explain that properly.

You may need To format the drive and set up the proper RAID configuration if you are attempting to use two drives as one.
