    The beast is here!

Did you ever stop to think maybe it's objectively stupid to spend $3000 dollars for 1.21 Jiggawatts when you only need to spend $1800?

    The beast is here!

My current rig was $1,300 at the time I built it. Factoring the upgrades I've made to it since then, it's probably had about ~$1,600 put into it. CPU Intel i7 2600k @ 4.0GHz Watercooled GPU ASUS Radeon 7870 HD 1GB (Original build Radeon 6870) RAM 4x 4GB Kingston HyperX (16GB) (Original build 8GB) Storage 120GB Kingston SSD, 2TB Caviar Black (Original build, put my existing 1TB/2TB Caviar Green) I talked to Krysk and this build went from "$3,000" posted by Sinkip, to Krysk saying "I think it was more like $2,600" and then linking his part list stating it was $2,300. He also hemorrhaged money on a 780ti, so my $2,000 point stands

What the hell is Elsword? Watch the video that instantly got me hooked: "Fuckin hell Warchamp, that shit looks hot. What's it gonna cost me?" This is a 100% free to play game that doesn't blow chunks, and an MMO at that. PvE gameplay revolves around running dungeons in groups of up to 4 people to complete quests and such and beating the shit out of monsters. Get loot, etc. The usual RPG stuff. PvP involves beating the shit out of each other, duh. The only things that cost money are cosmetic items, and "convenience things". "Convenience things": - Each character has four locked skills that have to be unlocked by completing a chain of side quests, which usually involve shitty drop rates. They're kind of a pain in the ass, and you can pay like $2 for an item that instantly unlocks the skill. These skills are typically the better ones for PvP, but you can obviously live without them. - Inventory space is limited, and you can buy more slots. I've been playing for a while and the default inventory space has never really been a problem for me. - You have 3 slots for consumables during dungeons that can replenish your health/mana, or give buffs or something. Can unlock it to 6 via a paid item. Most replenishables are on a shared cooldown, so again it's a pretty non issue. - You have four ability slots, and can pay to unlock a second row of 4 skills that you toggle between during play. Only really useful for a couple characters, and primarily for PvP in those cases. Not really necessary. - If you die in a dungeon, you need you use a resurrection stone to revive, or wait for your party to finish it. I don't think quest progress counts while you're dead, not sure. If everyone dies and doesn't revive, the dungeon ends. Your character starts with 9 and gets reset to 3 every day, if you have less than 3. Non issue. Problems with the game Pretty minor gripes all things considered. In fact, I only have one real one. - Stamina system. Your characters have 100% stamina which gets consumed when you play dungeons. It consumes less the more people you have in your party. When you hit 0% stamina, you can't play dungeons anymore. It gets reset to 100% each day. You might think this is a way that they milk money from you, but you'd be wrong. Stamina can't be purchased. Stamina is also unlimited on weekends. - Prices. While cosmetics and above mentioned convenience things are the only paid part of the game, the prices can be a bit steep. When it comes to cosmetics, you have two choices. Buy the item for 30 days, and then it disappears forever, or buy it permanently. Permanent cosmetics cost double, and to completely outfit your character (Minus accessories) in a permanent outfit, it's about $25-$30. Still, if you have two characters, that's basically retail game price, and that's pretty damn good for an MMO, which is usually that plus a subscription. If none of that made you think you'd hate this, and/or you like sidescrollers and/or beat 'em up games, definitely give this a try. Website here: http://www.elswordonline.com/

    Gaming Pet Peeves

Oh yeah, another pet peeve. Games that are forced into being super linear. I.E. You can't do X until doing Y, even though after you've beaten the game, you know you need to do X now without having to do Y. Ocarina of Time vs Skyward Sword is a great example of this. Ocarina of Time you can do pretty much any dungeon whenever the hell you want if you can glitch into it. Skyward Sword, almost everything only exists after you've done the previous part of the game.

    Gaming Pet Peeves

Similar to something said above, having to "win" a fight or something, where losing it results in failure and having to repeat it, only for it to then lead to you actually losing in a subsequent scripted event.

They just pushed out Season 2 of PvP which (in my opinion) fixed a lot of the balance issues with it. And yeah, Stamina can be a problem. That's why you make multiple characters though.

It's quite enjoyable. Warchamp pro tip: Take every single 'General' quest you can from the mission board thing after each and every dungeon. Do them. Note some will require you to walk back into town, or buy something. Keep tabs on your quests. Check them after every dungeon and pick up any new ones after every dungeon. Took me 3 characters to learn that lesson. My life is a lot easier on the fourth one now.

How drunk have you ever been?

Drunk for me apparently just feels like tipsy. Been blackout drunk once. Spent that night in the bathroom.
