    Vector normalization does not appear to work

    I wasn't talking about subtracting the tail to make the vector relative to the origin, I was talking about adding it back in to the result. A normalized vector is of unit length and points in a direction. It points in the same direction if you translate it (or add the tail back in) and translating it means that you have to move it back to the origin to do the things one (or at least I) would usually do with a normalized vector which is multiplying it by a number and adding it to some other vector. I'm trying to say that unless the vector normally needs to be 1 unit long starting from the tail position, which often isn't the case for me, it's probably not worth doing it in the normalize function itself. But I suppose it doesn't matter if all of the other vector functions assume there is a tail anyway. Also, hilariously enough, your function was most likely borked because you were subtracting the tail vector from the x direction, then taking the magnitude of the whole vector, subtracting the tail vector from the y direction, then taking the magnitude of the whole vector, and so on. Making a variable called mag or something, setting it equal to the magnitude of the vector once at the beginning, and then using that magnitude in the divisions would most likely fix your problem in the original code.

    Post some sample input along with the output it produces and the output you expect if you can. I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish by adding the tail back in. A normalized vector produces a direction, you already have said direction before you add the tail in. Translating a direction vector doesn't make much sense to me, you should be multiplying shit by it and adding that to things. Even though for some reason you've used your heathen math to put the vector tail somewhere other than the origin, I'm pretty sure the normalized vector should still be of magnitude 1 and begin at the origin (don't quote me on this, I'm not a mathemagician). I'm not sure what you're doing with this vector later, but adding the tail to it makes multiplying shit by it more obnoxious. I'm not sure why you're getting results between 1 and sqrt(2) for the magnitude, you should get a unit vector that starts at the tail vector and faces the head vector with a magnitude of 1 as far as I can tell. Are you subtracting the tail when you take the magnitude? If you're using only the head to find your magnitude but the tail isn't on the origin, that's an issue. Post your magnitude method while you're at it.
